our little pig's passing

Sad news over here.
Our daughter's little cherished guinea pig that lived in NYC with her passed away suddenly yesterday. Many tears are being shed for our beloved little Marshmallow. Enjoy some shots of her having a fun day in Central Park last summer.

Losing a pet never gets easier, no matter how old you are or how many you have had.

Wasn't she the cutest little pig ever? She was an actress too, starring in a full length movie a few years ago made in college by some of our daughter's friends.

Hug and kiss your pets today, you never know what day might be their last. Marshmallow appeared happy and healthy with no signs of illness. Rest in peace little pig.

life in NYC blog

Our daughter posts great photographs of her life in New York City on her blog La Vie and Me.  It makes me feel I am walking along with her as she makes her way around the city.

She and some friends were in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn recently and happened onto some graffiti that the boroughs are so famous for. I love the work of this artist. The message is "Be kind and generous".

The tone of today's graffiti has changed. There are many positive messages and images compared to those in the past and so much of it is beautiful. To see more, visit her blog, La Vie and Me to get glimpses of the streets and sights of NYC.

Will take a blogging break for now as we are heading to the Rocky Mountains for a getaway. Will post some of the beauty we discover soon.

more NYC holiday windows...Bergdorf Goodman

Part two of our daughter's tour of New York department store windows, the always amazing Bergdorf Goodman. These windows are SPECTACULAR!  Astounding really when you inspect each stunning detail!  Because Bergdorf's has so many windows, I will break it into two posts. The theme this year is The BG Follies, taking inspiration from vaudeville, the Ziegfield Follies and Hollywood musicals of the 1930"s. Enjoy...

Haha! Last minute adjustments...that is the backside of David Hoey, the creative mind behind the design of Bergdorf's windows. Read about the talented Visual Director in this New York Times article and a Style Republic article.

NYC holiday windows...Bloomingdale's

Our daughter enjoyed the mild weather in  New York City last night and checked out the department store holiday windows. First stop was Bloomingdale's who have partnered with Cirque de Soleil to promote their 3D film, Worlds Away.  She was able to get great shots, enjoy them  in their original size...
