espadrilles

My daughter and I love espadrilles.

They were first produced in the Pyrenees area of southern France/Northern Spain, they are still seen there  on everyone, young and old, rich and poor.

When we were in Catalonia, we saw the standard variety everywhere, sold like this.
They cost about $5.00 a pair, are made of jute with a rubber bottom and cotton upper, simple and beautiful.
They are very comfortable because the cotton breathes and the jute absorbs shock.

These days, there is a wide variety available everywhere, target has several nice options.
Tory Burch has several.

There are ridiculously priced ones.
This website sells espadrilles made in Spain.

This company is American but sells excellent espadrilles.

They are easy to find everywhere, a classic that is trendy right now.
