day makeup for mature skin

Good advice from Lisa Eldridge, a British makeup artist....

Biggest takeaway for me- emphasizing the eyes more as we age, not less. I now wear eye liner for the first time in my life, my light eyes are out of focus otherwise. Also am wearing darker shadow to create depth and contour as she recommends. Her beautiful face, British accent and soft voice make this easy to watch! Visit her website here for lots of advice and videos.

glimpse into the life of Lee Radziwell

The New York Times just published two fascinating interviews with Lee Radziwell, the sister of Jackie Kennedy. Nicky Haslen interviewed her in Paris at her pretty pink apartment and Sofia Coppola directed a video with Deborah Needleman conducting the interview at her home in New York.
Some images of her Paris apartment....

and watch the video here...

Wish the video was longer, she would have tons of interesting stories to tell.

A baby Giant Panda was born to Mei Tsiang and Tian Tian last night at The National Zoo. Check out their Panda Cam for the first viewing. In the meantime, check out this adorable video from a few years ago, best to mute the commentary and just enjoy the action.

Happy Birthday Julia Child

I started watching her as a teenager, she was entertaining and a role model for aspiring chefs as well as American homemakers who made her book Mastering the Art of French Cooking a best seller.

We saw her on the street in NYC once, walking with her husband in the early 1980's. She was very recognizable as she towered over him. Today would be her 100th birthday.

movie alert

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is out this weekend. Even though my husband was born in India, I will have to drag him to this movie! The previews look good and scenery will of course be fascinating!
